The Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization dedicated to preserving the heritage of the Santa Clarita Valley, 35 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Company History
Founded in 1975, the purpose of the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society is to stimulate public interest in the history of the Santa Clarita Valley and environs, to collect and preserve facts and artifacts pertinent to the area, to advocate for historic preservation throughout the region, and to inform the public. Serving a community of more than 300,000 residents, the Society maintains a large physical collection (including approximately 1 million historic photos) and operates a historic park with eight "rescued" buildings, a locomotive, caboose, and other features.
